The Winery

All about our Winery

Bodegas Cialu is set in the heart of La Rioja, between the monastic routes of San Millán and Valvanera, the birthplace of the Spanish language and the patron saint of La Rioja. In the land of the river Najerilla, our wines are made following a strict selection of grapes of the Tempranillo, Garnacha and Mazuelo varieties, once they have reached optimal ripeness.

We were founded with a purpose

  • Native varieties of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Mazuelo grapes.

  • Our wines, made from our own grapes and based on our expertise.

  • Wines with the soul of the Vineyard, land, climate and nature.

  • This purpose is to share with everyone what we do best.

Control the process

  • The control of our own Vineyards located in Rioja Alta.

  • The use of young vines and old vines aged between 15 to 60 years, to guarantee the wine consumers’ expectations

  • Native grapes, with the soul of La Rioja: Tempranillo, Garnacha and Mazuelo.

  • The grape harvest, hand- picked by family members and friends.

  • Temperature-controlled winemaking.

  • Ageing in barrels with an Allier oak bottom, American oak staves and French oak heads.

  • To share with everyone what we do best.
